Six things happen between opening the box and never thinking about it again.
1 · Plug it in
Connect the included Ethernet cable to your home router, then plug in the power. Wait one minute. That's the only wiring it will ever ask of you — once setup is done you can unplug the Ethernet and it carries on over Wi‑Fi.
2 · Answer three questions
On your phone, open http://castadhan.local:8786. A welcome wizard asks where you live, how your community calculates prayer times, and which speakers should carry the call. It finds your Google speakers on its own. No apps to download, no accounts to create, no terminal commands.
3 · It calls every prayer
All five daily prayers, calculated for your exact location all year round, played through the speakers you chose. One room or the whole house — each speaker keeps its own volume, so Fajr can wake the parents without startling the children.
4 · It does the rest
Everything beyond the adhan is optional and yours to shape: morning and evening dhikr, gentle reminders before a prayer window closes, Surah al‑Kahf every Friday, scheduled Qur'an recitation, Suhoor alarms in Ramadan, and the Eid takbeeraat.
5 · It looks after itself
It updates itself overnight while the family sleeps, and rolls back automatically if an update misbehaves. A watchdog confirms every adhan actually reached the speakers — and no software glitch can mute the call to prayer.
6 · You stay in control
A clean control page opens in any browser on your network. Adjust volumes, pause playback, test a sound, or add a one‑tap Stop button to your phone's home screen for the moments that need quiet.
